Since I‘m getting started late I thought I would back up and tell you how this all began. Nick (daddy) and I have been together for 9 ½ years and married for 2. After 8 years of just the two of us we decided to have a baby. God had a plan because we got pregnant on the first try. My pregnancy was virtually uncomplicated. No morning sickness, no horrible back pain. The changes in circulation and swelling did cause my carpal tunnel syndrome to flair up in both hands to an unbearable pain; causing me to get a cortisone injection in both wrists. With no morning sickness, I got the opposite, extreme hunger. So for the first trimester I felt sick if I didn’t eat. Needless to say I gained a bunch of weight. And by the third trimester I was so swollen that I had to wear Nick’s shoes for the last two months. I craved sweets the first trimester and orange juice the rest of the pregnancy. I was drinking nearly 2 jugs of orange juice every week. I felt the baby move for the first time on November 5, 2008. I was at a crime prevention training class at the Rice University police department. It felt like a little bubble moving across my stomach. God truly does perform miracles.

Our baby girl has been stubborn from the beginning. We went to the doctor at 20 weeks to find out if the baby was a boy or a girl. She sat Indian style with her feet in front of the goods the whole time. So we left the doctors office still not knowing. We returned 4 weeks later to attempt to determine the sex again. That little bugger sat with her legs straight out in front of her with her ankles crossed the whole time. The ultrasound tech told us she “thought” it was a girl. So we were not completely sure she was a girl until she was born.
Around 7 months my best friend Michelle took some pictures of me pregnant. They turned out really cute. She is amazing!
